Audrey Hope Specht, 94, who lived a fabulous life, went to be with the Lord at 1:33 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Nov. 10, 1923, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Hartley) Morrison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Herbert A. Specht, on March 13, 1995; a son, Robert Specht, in infancy; granddaughter, Lisa M. Knepp; grandson, Bradley Gruber; great-granddaughter, Kristina Osborne; sisters, Peggy Stine, Nellie Roberts, Emma Hendricks; and a brother, Jack Morrison.
Audrey is survived by: her children, Arlene Knepp and husband, William, of Milroy, Rose Walters and husband, George, of Lewistown, Herbert Specht and wife Darlene, of Newville, Rick Specht, of Virginia, Gary Specht and wife, Sue, of Texas, Diana Osborne and husband, James, of Virginia, Suzanne Gruber and husband, Stanley, of Lewistown, Annette Drake and husband, Timothy, of Lewistown, Peggy Krepps and husband, Pete, of Newville, and Bonnie Lukens, of Lewistown; sisters, Zelpha Vanada and Betty Osborne, both of Lewistown; a brother, Joseph Morrison and wife, Doris, of Arizona; 25 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She attended Milroy Presbyterian Church.
Audrey’s job was raising ten children, which she did very well. She lived life her way and loved her large family and family get-togethers. When asked if she’d like to go somewhere, she was always the first one in the car. She won many blue ribbons for her peanut butter fudge and enjoyed making it for years. Audrey was loved by everyone who met her and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
A viewing will be held from noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan 9, at Milroy Presbyterian Church, 321 S. Main St., Milroy. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., with Rev. Joy Kauffman and Rev. Robert Zorn officiating.
Interment will take place in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
