Carole "Vonnie" Lavonne (Conner) Shoemaker

Carole “Vonnie” Shoemaker, 76, of Granville, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:20 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 at Ohesson Manor.

Born Aug. 15, 1941 in Bratton Twp., McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late Anna (Corbin) and Harold D. Conner.

She is survived by: her husband, Ronald J. Shoemaker, whom she married March 30, 1963; her children, Lori Saltzer and husband, Richard, of Belleville, Rhonda Swisher and husband, Kurtis, of Lewistown, and Matthew Shoemaker and wife, Kristen (Aurand), of Lewistown; grandchildren, Colton Swisher, Nathan Saltzer, Courtney Swisher, Conner Saltzer, and Cade, Jace and Trey Shoemaker; siblings, Merle Conner and wife, Betty, of Lake Ariel, Deanna Conner, of Lewistown, and Jeffrey Conner and wife, Cyndi, of Lewistown.

She was a graduate of Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing, class of 1962.

Vonnie was a registered nurse at Lewistown Hospital for 20 years; Davita Dialysis Center for 13 years, retiring in 2004.

She was a member of Evangel Baptist Church where she was a 1st-2nd grade Sunday school teacher, AWANA leader and Clothing Closet coordinator.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Evangel Baptist Church, 375 W. 5th St., Lewistown with Rev. Bill Howe officiating.

Interment took place in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
