Daryl Lee Franklin, 58, of Lewistown passed away at 9:23 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 at his home.
Born Feb. 18, 1958 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Addie L. Franklin.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Lee Franklin.
He is survived by: his companion, Billie Kline, of Lewistown, his children, Daryele Franklin-Matthews, of Harrisburg, Eric Matthews and wife, Bianca, of New Jersey, Justin Matthews, Khylil Matthews and Yjayden Woods, all of Harrisburg; sister Joan C. Franklin, of Harrisburg; four grandchildren; and a nephew, Avery B. Bridges and wife, Shaina K.
He was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School.
Daryl served in the U.S. Army.
He attended and helped at The Resting Place, in Harrisburg where he loved working and mentoring children and adults who many of them thought of him as a hero.
Daryl was a social butterfly. His smile and laugh was contagious. Most of all, he especially loved his family and friends. He was a die-hard Eagles fan.
A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. on Feb. 21, 2017
