Born July 25, 1929, in Boston, Mass., he was the son of the late Lydia (Kunkel) and Donald M. Eldredge Sr.

Gregg is survived by: his wife of 63 wonderful years, Mary Rosalie “Lee” (Gervais) Eldredge, whom he married on June 20, 1953; children, Susan Evans and husband, Harry “Bill”, of Port Charlotte, Fla., the Reverend Charles Eldredge and wife, Barbara, of Lewistown, and Kathy Taft and husband, Mark, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Baker and husband, David, of Culver, Ind.

He was a captain in the Army Medical Corp stationed in Wurzburg, Germany and served as a pediatrician in a field hospital from 1957-1960.

Following his military service, he became a partner in the Pittsford Pediatric Group in Pittsford, N.Y. until his retirement in 1995, when he moved with his wife to a cottage on Lake Conesus.

He loved helping his grandkids fish off the dock and ferrying them across the lake to Camp Stella Maris.

Gregg was a member of the Maitland Church of the Brethren.

He was a past member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pittsford, N.Y., where he served as deacon, elder and Stephen Minister.

For many years he was the school physician for the Pittsford School District and could be seen at every sporting game and event.

He was an avid Red Sox baseball fan and enjoyed watching many sports.

He was fortunate to travel to all seven continents as part of Medical Groups.

He was a very caring, generous man, wonderful with children, always bringing a smile to their faces. He touched many lives and worked hard for causes that were important to him.

He founded a Bike Helmet Safety Coalition in Rochester, N.Y. which led to a law requiring children under 15 to wear bike helmets in N.Y.
