Dorothy Jean Krepps, 94, of Lewistown died at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at Golden Living Center – William Penn.
Born May 24, 1921 in Lewistown she was a daughter of the late Edward C. and Mabel O. (Black) Snook.
In addition to her parents Jean was also preceded in death by: her husband, Donald Krepps, May 16, 1978; three brothers, James P., Robert E., and William H. Snook; sister, Doris J. Dillree; and a grandson, James Keyes Krepps.
She is survived by: her children, Arthur L. Krepps and companion, Janet Miller, of Lewistown, Dorothy Eileen Hammond and husband, Fran, of North Wales, Donald L. Krepps and wife, Lesa, of Milroy, James R. Krepps and wife, Donna, of Grifton, NC and Kevin D. Krepps and wife, Kathy, of Lewistown; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Jean was a 1940 graduate of Lewistown High School.
Earlier in life she had worked as an operator at Potomac Telephone Co., in Maryland, later, at Bell Telephone, and lastly, at Parkway Service Store for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
She was an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, where she was also very active in ECW. Jean was also a member of the Republican Women’s Club.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with Father William Murphey officiating.
A viewing will be held from 7 – 9:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
Interment will take place in St. Mark’s Cemetery.
