Gary L. Stewart

PAISLEY, FL – Gary L. Stewart, 76 of Paisley, FL went to be with his heavenly father at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2015.  Born on Sept. 21, 1938, in Granville Township, he was a son of the late John J. and Ruth (Bush) Stewart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Fultz, and brothers, John and Glenn Stewart.

Gary is survived by: his wife, Sandra (Benner) Stewart, step-daughter, Renae Benner; grandchildren Joey (Michelle) Magana whom he raised; and Jason, Sarah Leigh, Michelle Benner; and seven great- grandchildren.

Siblings, Phyllis (Phillip) Witmer, of Paisley, Fl, Roy Stewart, Harold Stewart, Warren (Jeanne) Stewart, Kenneth Stewart and sister-in-law Helen Stewart all of Lewistown and many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Gary as much as he loved each of them.

Gary retired with 33 years of service from Chrysler Corp in Newark Delaware.

Gary loved to joke and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed spending his time between Pennsylvania and Florida and working at the Bloomsburg Fair.  There wasn’t a stranger that he met that he didn’t talk to like a friend. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Lewistown Assembly of God Church, 160 Summit Drive, Lewistown with Rev. Dennis Sproull officiating.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown and from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Monday at the church.

Interment will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.
