John Edward "Eddie" Miller, 80, of Lewistown, died on Aug. 16, 2015, at 8:47 a.m. at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born on Sept. 18, 1934, in Altoona, Eddie was the son of the late John and Anna (Bodnar) Miller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Vincent Pacini.
Eddie is survived by: his sister, Joan (Miller) Pacini, of Lewistown; two nephews, Michael Pacini and wife, Mischa, of Sarasota, Fla., Steve Pacini and wife, Michele, of Chambersburg; two great nephews, Mike, of San Francisco, Calif., and Nick, of Atlanta, Ga.; and a great niece, Ciara, of Sarasota, Fla.
After high school, Eddie joined the U.S. Navy. Upon leaving the Navy, Eddie became a professional painter, and he worked for various employers throughout Pennsylvania for a number of years.
Eddie was passionate about his hobbies. He enjoyed collecting antiques, refinishing antiques and creating a garden of flowers.
Eddie will forever be remembered for the love of his family and his outgoing personality. He loved walking, meeting and chatting with people. Eddie's legacy is the warmth and generosity he showered on his niece and nephews.
Eddie was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044, with Father William Weary officiating. Interment will be at Juniata Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
