Joyce E. Lingle, 76, of Lewistown, has been reunited with the love of her life, her husband, “Sonny”. Joyce departed this world at 1:08 a.m., Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born June 23, 1941, in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Rachel (Yoder) Ditzler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morton R. “Sonny” Lingle Jr., on Dec. 31, 2014.
She is survived by: her children, Tamra Nagle, of Lewistown, Yvette Sparks, of Fairway, Kansas, Yvonne Rodgers, of Dallastown, and Merv Lingle, of Charlottesville, Va.; four grandchildren, Chynna-Blu, Jesse, Ivy and Jack; five great-grandchildren, Iris, Autumn, Aurora, Esme, and Ira-Lynn; and her brother, Donald Ditzler and wife, Donna, of Bellefonte.
Joyce graduated from Warwick High School in Lititz, Class of 1959.
She worked in various jobs in her earlier years, but her greatest pleasure was taking care of Sonny and raising her children. Joyce loved spending time with her family and being around her grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and tending to her plants, the love of which was instilled in her children, along with the importance of strong morals and ethics. Joyce was also an excellent pickle and jam maker and enjoyed sewing and embroidering.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
