Kathleen "Kathy" A. (Wertz) Walls

Kathleen A. “Kathy” (Wertz) Walls, 66, of Lewistown, passed away at 12:44 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center.

Born April 2, 1951 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Jane (McCurry) and Boyd Wertz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Susan J. Smith.

She is survived by: her husband, Gary R. Walls, whom she married April of 1980; son, Bradley R. Walls, of Lewistown; daughter, Amanda K. Walls and companion, George Thom, of New Jersey; and step-daughter, Christy Cockroft, of Florida; brother, John Wertz and wife, Sue, of South Carolina and sister, Patricia J. Swanger and husband, Ron, of Lewistown; and two nieces and two nephews.

Kathy was a graduate of Chief Logan High School, Class of 1969. She had worked in the payroll department, retiring after 28 years, at Lewistown Hospital.

She was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church.

Kathy was a fun and loving person who enjoyed the beach, shopping, gardening flowers, watching basketball and baseball games. She loved her friends and family so much, especially her son, daughter, and husband. She will be missed by many. 

A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc. 108 First Ave., Burnham with Rev. Randy Traxler officiating.

Interment will take place in Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
