Laura “Gladys” P. Kearns, 93, formerly of Milroy died at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Ohesson Manor.

Born Aug. 22, 1921 in Granville she was a daughter of the late Edward and Sarah (Watt) Pierce.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy S. Kearns, Jr. on Sept. 2, 1984; a granddaughter, Wendy Berich; five brothers and six sisters.

Gladys is survived by: her children, Sarah Berich and husband, Richard, of Reedsville, Carol Armagost and husband, Richard, of Three Springs, Lucinda North and husband, James, of Milroy; seven grandchildren, Richard Berich, Amanda Berich, Richard L. Armagost Jr., Amy Horton, Amber Reynolds, Angela Benn and Liza Johnson; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She had worked in the cafeteria in the Mifflin County School District from 1958-1985.

Gladys was a long time member of White Memorial UCC, Milroy.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28 at Church Hill United Methodist Church, 85 Woodland Circle, Reedsville with Pastor Jean Ward officiating.

A private interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Gladys’ name may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 800 Corp. Circle, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110-9436 or to Alzheimer’s Assoc. 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

All arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
