Linda S. (Riden) Laite

Linda S. (Riden) Laite, 74, of Lewistown passed away at 4:24 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born on December 23, 1940, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late James A. “Pap” and M. Louise Riden.

Linda is survived by: her husband, Murray W. Laite, whom she married on June 2, 1960; her children, James W. Laite and wife, Deborah J., of Severna Park and Kathy L. Herman and husband, Scott E., of Selinsgrove; and her grandchildren, Christine and Samantha Laite and Mackenzie Herman.

She was a 1958 graduate of Chief Logan High School.

Linda was a receptionist for Tri-County Oral Surgeons.

She was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, where she was financial secretary, elder, Sunday school teacher and member of the Women’s Association.

Linda’s organizations include the following: Eastern Star Society of Mifflin County, Burnham Lions Club, Judge of Elections Derry Township Republican party and a member of the Chief Logan Mingoes Athletic Club.

She loved her children and grandchildren and followed them in athletics. Linda was a Penn State supporter and lifelong Redskins fan.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, March 4 at the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Third St. with Rev. Helen Kester officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Wed. at the church.

Interment will take place at Vira Methodist Cemetery with a committal service held at the church.
