Palmer B. “Pal” Snook, 94, formerly of McClure, passed away at 10:23 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19, 2016 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Oct. 15, 1921 in McClure, he was a son of the late Dora (Fultz) and John W. Snook.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Caroline (Treaster) Snook, on Dec. 16, 2002.
He is survived by: his sons, James W. Snook and wife, Marjorie E., of Burnham, and Larry L. Snook and wife, Marjorie J., of McClure; brothers, Robert A. Snook, of Selinsgrove, and Orrie A. Snook, of New Berlin; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Earlier in life, he was a meat cutter at Weis Markets and Rocco’s store; later, a self-employed farmer; and lastly was a truck/roller operator at Penn Dot for 28 years, retiring in 1983.
‘Pal’ was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church and also attended Dormantown Lutheran Church.
Earlier in life he enjoyed hunting.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 22 at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham with Rev. David Pennebaker officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Lawver’s Cemetery, McClure.
