Pastor James H. Everly, Jr., 85, of Belleville, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 9:45 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017 at his home.

Born April 23, 1932, in Paintersville, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Dorothy (Gill) and James H. Everly, Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosanne Lake Everly.

He is survived by: his wife, Patricia A. (Sagarese) Everly, whom he married December 24, 1952; his children, James H. Everly, III and wife, Karen, of Mt. Joy, Joseph P. Everly and wife, Lyn, of Novato, Calif., and Dave Everly and wife, Linda, of Shingle Springs, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dolores Jane Everly.

He was a graduate of Morristown High School, N.J., Class of 1952.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956 and then the Air Force Reserve from 1956-1958. Following his service in the reserves, he worked in the Aerospace program.

Earlier in life, he had been a plant manager at Graco Children’s Products in Hellam, Pa.

Pastor Jim Everly served many positions at Calvary Bible Church before moving on to become a full time pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church, later named, Windy Hill Bible Church. He served as pastor there from 2004-2013. He was not only the pastor, but he would do anything that was needed in the church. He was not afraid to get his hands dirty and because of his mechanical engineering background there was not much that he was not involved in over 85 years. He had lots of experience and was eager to learn and then put that experience to use. Pastor Everly also served as a pastor to the seniors at Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, Reedsville, where he was also a visitation pastor leading many people to the Lord.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, June 20 at Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, 99 Taylor Drive, Reedsville with Rev. Douglas D. Sabin officiating. The VFW Post 7011 honors will be held immediately following the service.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service Tuesday at the church, with a reception to follow the service.

Interment will take place at a later date.
