Paul E. Arnold Sr., 85, of McClure, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Oct. 4, 1932, in McClure, he was the son of the late Samuel W. Arnold and Mertie (Snook) Arnold.
He was preceded in death by: siblings, Miriam M. Adams, Eva Folk and Fred Arnold; daughter, Brenda K. Lash; and one great-great-grandchild.
Paul is survived by: wife, Delores E. (Wilkins) Arnold, whom he married Oct. 6, 1951; children, Paul “Ed” Arnold Jr. and wife, Hiltrude, of McClure, Cindy L. Hunter and companion, Michael Romig, of McClure, and Susan E. Renninger and husband, Scott, of McClure; brother, Boyd Arnold and wife, Sheila, of Mesa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He worked at the Standard Steel as a crane operator for many years. Paul then was the owner/operator of Paul Arnold Trucking, last retiring from American Hickory Trucking.
Paul was a member of Lawver’s United Methodist Church, in McClure.
He was a member of the Decatur Volunteer Fire Company, United Steelworkers Local 1940 and Antique Machine Association. He was very skillful in woodworking and loved to make picnic tables. Paul enjoyed spending time and talking with his family and teaching his grandchildren his traits he had learned throughout his years.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. James Jacobs officiating.
Interment will take place in Lawver's Cemetery, 300 Samuels Church Road, McClure.
In lieu of flowers, memorial’s in Paul’s name may be made to Lawver’s Cemetery Fund, 300 Samuels Church Road, McClure.
Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham.
