Robert E. Gregg, 85, of McClure died at 3:00 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2015 at his home.
Born May 29, 1929 in Beaver Springs he was a son of the late James H. and Thelma S. (Catherman) Gregg.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert E. Gregg and Ronald L. Gregg.
He is survived by: his wife, Mae E. (Goss) Gregg, whom he married Feb. 20, 1960; his step-children, Terry L. Wray of McClure, and Linda Stephenson and husband, Gerald, of Grand Prairie, Texas; brother, Richard W. Gregg and wife, Doris, of Lewistown; sister, Jeanie Gregg, of Buffalo, New York; and three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Robert was a graduate of Lewistown High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 – 1948.
Robert had worked at the American Vicose, Lewistown until 1972, then retired from Standard Steel in Burnham after working in Machine Shop I from 1972 until 1991.
He enjoyed fishing and camping in Canada, vacationing in Florida after his retirement, liked Penn State, flowers and gardening.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16 at Samuel’s Church with Rev. Clark Kelsey officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 - 11:00 a.m., Sat. at the church.
Interment with VFW Post 7011 honors will take place in Samuel’s Cemetery, McClure.
