Pastor Ronald C. Stacey, 75, went to be with his Heavenly Father at 8:23 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center.
Born December 29, 1941 in Altoona, to the late Thomas and Marie (Salyards) Stacey, Ron was blessed with a large and loving family. On November 17, 1963, he married his best friend, Carol Ann (Lupold) Stacey in Duncansville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: three children, Ron and Jim Stacey, a daughter, Nancy Bush; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Russell Stacey.
Ron helped raise his children with discipline and humility, and often took them on family trips, camping, and fishing. He instilled in them a great love and appreciation of nature.
In 1974, he answered the Lord’s calling and started a life of service to God. He worked in prison ministries for many years, praying for the souls of those most lost. He also enjoyed time as a campground pastor and felt fortunate to be able to pursue his favorite hobbies of fishing and camping while serving his Lord. He became an ordained minister on Dec. 14, 2008 at Parkview Church of The Brethren in Lewistown and served as their pastor from that time.
Ron dearly loved being a minister. He could be found at local hospitals and nursing homes providing comfort and guidance, and was always available to help in any situation.
His devotion to family and firm belief in God guided him throughout his life and ultimately gave him peace. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at rest with his Creator.
A viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 10, at the Parkview Church of The Brethren, 990 Parcheytown Rd., Lewistown.
A funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. at the church, officiated by Pastor Ron’s sons, Ron and Jim Stacey.
Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham.
