Ronald C. “Pip” Wagner, 83, of Lewistown, died at 2:23 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Golden Living Center-Wm Penn.
Born March 11, 1932, in Reedsville, he was a son of the late Kathryn (Dalby) and Paul E. Wagner, Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul E. “Jack”, Jr. and Kerry A. Wagner.
Ronald is survived by: his wife Mary V. (Hackett) Wagner; daughters Virginia Wagner, of Burnham, and Ronda Markley and husband, Sam, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Dawn Treaster and husband, Howie, of Milroy, Arron McCurdy and wife, Rebecca, of Jackson, NJ, Miranda Heltman, of Harrisburg, Sam Markley, Jr., and wife, Daria, and Sean Markley and wife, Amy, both of Lewistown; great grandchildren, Caleb, Calvin, and Camryn Treaster, Ava and Conner McCurdy, Damian Heltman Gray, and Derek, McKenzie and Tyler Markley; and special nieces and nephews.
Ronald served in the Army from 1951-1953.
Earlier in life, he worked at American Viscose, Suburban Propane, and was the owner/operator of M & R Gas Company. He later worked at Standard Steel, retiring in April, 1994.
Ronald was Presbyterian by faith.
He was a member of the Lewistown Masonic Lodge #203.
Ronald loved hunting and camping, cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed taking them for rides on his golf cart.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, Aug. 24, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with Mr. Howie Treaster officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m., Aug. 24, at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Church Hill Cemetery with special services by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7011, Lewistown.
