Sonya A. (Shirey) Stull

Sonya A. Stull, 75, of Reedsville, passed away at 4:08 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at William Penn, Lewistown.

Born March 24, 1941, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Norma (Shatzer) and Harry Shirey.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa McMahon, and a sister, Maxine Adams. 

Sonya is survived by: her husband, Larry R. Stull, whom she married in July, 1969; children, Michelle Bleyer, Laurie Romig and her husband, Jeff, Scott Stull and his companion, Wilhamenia Forney, all of Lewistown; son-in-law, Eric McMahon, of McClure; siblings, Connie Quinn and her husband, Phil, Harry “Butch” Shirey and wife, Bonnie, both of Reedsville, and Kathy Ammerman and her companion, Bob Schell, of Lewistown; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Lewistown.

Early in life, she worked at Fisher Electronics as an assembler and later at Scotty’s Fashions.

Sonya loved spending time with her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.  She always looked forward to decorating her home for the holidays and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Pastor Clair Diven officiating.  

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, at the funeral home. 

Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sonya’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1375 Martin St., Suite 206, State College, PA 16803.
