Thomas K. Noel, 64, of Reedsville, passed away at approximately 10 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at his home.
Born Nov. 4, 1952 in Latrobe, he was a son of the late Virginia (McCauley) and Thomas R. Noel.
He is survived by: his wife, Christy C. (Chapple) Noel, whom he married Sept. 25, 1999; daughters, Lauren Noel, of Maryland and Heather Noel, of Canonsburg; one grandchild, Caleb Noel; former wife, Eunice Noel; and brothers, Chris Noel and wife, Vickie, of Texas and Barry Noel.
Thomas was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Class of 1970, and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Thomas retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in psychological services after 30 years.
Tom was an avid reader. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing and gardening. Tom was quite the outdoorsman. He also enjoyed chess and teaching children chess at the Mifflin County Library. He was a member of the NRA and Mifflin County Sportsman’s Club.
A funeral service, with VFW Post 7011 honors, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., 108 First Ave. Burnham, with Rev. Karen McCachren officiating.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
