Virginia Sue Stever, 87, of Millerstown and formerly of Lewistown and Thompsontown, passed away at 12:15 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.        

Born January 7, 1929 in Mt. Union, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Lenora (Williams) and Edward Lewis Irrgang.  Her husband, Otis W. Stever, preceded her in death on March 2, 2004.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter E. Irrgang; and sisters, Gloria Baumgardner and Joyce Weyant.

Sue is survived by her children, Susan M. Magill and husband, Thomas A., of Millerstown, and Sheri D. Keller and husband, Gary, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Kate Robinson and husband, Mark, of College Park, Md., and David Magill and wife, Rebecca, of Newport; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Aria Robinson, and Isabel Magill; and siblings, Vivian Murray, of Belleville, John Irrgang, of Lewistown, and Lenore Waggoner, of Thompsontown.

She graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1946.

Sue was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Lewistown.

She taught Sunday School, Bible School, Good News Club, Ladies Bible Study, and served as a Girl Scout leader in her earlier years.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and creating beautiful crafts for her family and friends.   

Sue will be remembered as a lifelong prayer warrior for her beloved husband, Otey, and for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many others.

Services will be held on Friday, September 23, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Pastor Rodney Bower and Pastor Howard Houtz officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.   

Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park, 9010 US Highway 522 S., Lewistown.
