Albert A. "Puck" Platzer, 83, formerly of Ferguson Valley Road, Lewistown, passed away at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, at Ohesson Manor.
Born Aug. 26, 1935, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Harry "Jinker" Platzer and Minnie (Murschel) Mulholland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: William and Anna Murschel, his maternal grandparents who raised him; wife, Mary L. (Ritter) Platzer; grandsons, Christopher S. Burke and William B. Fye Jr.; and a stepson, William B. Fye Sr.
Albert is survived by: children, Allan A. Platzer and wife Deborah, Larry L. Platzer and wife Carol, and Michael R. Platzer, all of Lewistown; step-daughters; Dorothy M. Burke and husband, Stephen, and Sally-Jo Shultz and husband, Alan, both of Lewistown; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and siblings, Patricia Ray, of Ephrata, and George Platzer and wife, Hazel, of Hyde.
He was a 1955 graduate of Lewistown-Granville High School.
Early in life, Puck was employed locally at Miller's Auto Parts and Joe The Motorist, He retired from the maintenance department at Standard Steel in 1998, with 37 years of service.
He was a former member of The Lewistown Moose, City Hook and Ladder No. 14, and Yeagertown Fire Companies. Puck was a big NASCAR, Dallas Cowboys and Penn State football fan. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time with his buddies at Dan's Garage in Burnham.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
