Barbara P. (Rhodes) McCullough

Barbara P. (Rhodes) McCullough, 79, of Lewistown, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019, at her home.

Born Nov. 15, 1939, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Pearl and Ted Rhodes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. McCullough Sr., to whom she was married for 62 years.

She is survived by: children, Ralph D. (Rick) McCullough Jr., and companion, Cathy Snyder, of Lewistown, Lisa A. McCullough and companion, Rhoda Shafranich, of Lewistown, and Rodger A. McCullough and wife, Jeannie, of Mechanicsburg; two grandsons, Anthony J. McCullough and wife, Lannie, and Travis J. McCullough and wife, Wendy and one granddaughter, Ahlea Hornung; two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Noah McCullough; one step-grandson, Brandon Knepp.

Barbara was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. She was a member of the Mifflin County and Mount Nittany dog clubs, and the women’s service club.

She attended Chief Logan High School, and later in life she received her G.E.D.

In her earlier years, she worked at Long’s Dairy and Scotty’s Fashions, where she served 28 years of service, and Giant Foods, Burnham, where she served 13 years of service. She was the first feature twirler for Chief Logan High School band in the 1950s. She loved working with her dogs in training. Barbara loved spending time with her family and friends.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Burnham, with Pastor Craig Munnell officiating.
