Betty M. Goss Collins, 98, of Lewistown, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, at Ohesson Manor.
Born on Feb. 13, 1921, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Simon K. and Alta Lucretia (Bentz) Detweiler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her first husband, Carl M. Goss Jr.; second husband, William T. Collins; and a sister, Jean F. Appleby.
She is survived by; a son, Donald L. Goss, and wife, Carol, of Lewistown; stepsons, R. William Collins, and wife, Sandra of Pequea, Thomas Collins and wife, Mona, of State College; a granddaughter, Molly J. Schlegel; step-grandchildren, Karen Giordano and husband, Joe, Holly Gladfelter and husband, Chris, Thomas Jr., and Marty Collins; great-grandson, Cole Schlegel; step-great-grandchildren, Kimberly Giordano, Jennifer, and Eric Gladfelter; nephew, Jeff Appleby and wife, Joyce; and many nieces and nephews on the Goss side of the family.
Betty was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1939.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, in Lewistown.
Earlier in life, she worked as a secretary at R.M. Sassaman Oil Company and later at Service Petroleum.
Betty enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and was an avid reader. Earlier in life, she enjoyed bowling.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Doug Pierce officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
