Betty L. (Ronk) Wilhelm

Betty L. Wilhelm, 78, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018.

Born Oct. 29, 1940, in Mattawana, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Rittenhouse) Ronk.

She is survived by: her husband of 55 years, James D. Wilhelm; children, Brian Wilhelm and fiancee, Tracy Ewing, of Bellefonte, and Brent Wilhelm and wife, Deb, of Enola; two beloved granddaughters, Laura Wilhelm and Gretchen Wilhelm, who brought her much joy; and siblings, Hazel Miller, and Carl Ronk and wife, Linda, all of Mattawana.

Betty was a Rothrock High School graduate, Class of 1959.

She was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Yeagertown for many years.

In her earlier years, Betty worked at Lewistown Candy and Tobacco.

Betty enjoyed gardening and had a wonderful green thumb. She loved fresh cut flowers and flowering gardens. She was also a delightful cook who loved to bake, especially for her family, and her apple pies were the best.

Betty was a wonderful friend to many. She made special times more special. She also loved to laugh and loved a great story.

A receiving of family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 132 N. Main St., Yeagertown, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Reverend Philip C. Tundell officiating.

Interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery.
