Catherine P. “Pat” Hampton, 85, of Yeagertown, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born May 12, 1933, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late George A. and Isabelle A. (Havice) Eckley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond O. “Tootles”Hampton; siblings, C. Diane Aumiller and Clarence “Bill” Eckley.
She is survived by: children, Cathy Cox and husband, Charles, of Yeagertown, and Jeffrey A. Eckley, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Alexis Dedmon and husband, David, Brandon L. Cox and Gregory A. Eckley and wife, Adair; great-grandchildren, Haley and Leland Eckley; step-grandchildren, Chuck Harmon and wife, Jennifer, and their children, Jacob, Jordan, and Emmaleigh; siblings, George Larry Eckley and wife, Carole, of Reedsville, Judy Polselli and husband, Kenneth, of R.I.; brother-in-law, Ron Aumiller; sister-in-law, Beverly Eckley; and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was a member of Yeagertown United Methodist Church since 1949. During the summer, she enjoyed working at the church and helping with Vacation Bible School.
She was a Derry High School graduate, Class of 1953.
Earlier in life, Pat worked at Rea & Derick Drug Store. She then worked as a seamstress at Cluett Peabody Arrow Shirt Factory for 18 years and later retired as a cafeteria cashier at Burnham Elementary School in 1985.
A receiving of friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, at Yeagertown United Methodist Church, 7 N. Mann Ave., Yeagertown. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Rachel Horst officiating.
A private interment will take place at Mt. Rock Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Burnham.
