Dolly Stricker Obituary

Dolly L. Stricker, 88, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born Aug. 17, 1931, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Newton Hamilton and Carrie Amelia (Dunn) Bishop.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Lester Eugene Stricker; two brothers, Dennis Bishop, Lloyd Bishop; and six sisters, Evelyn Bell, Carrie Knepp, Cleo Sutusky, Virgie Peterson, Betty Buchanan, and Dorothy Boren; and one great-granddaughter, Grace Louise Platzer.

She is survived by: children, Eugenia Platzer and husband, James, of Lewistown, Wendy Chamberlain and husband, Dewayne, of Mechanicsburg, and Matthew Stricker and wife, Crystal, of Burnham; sister, Lorraine Haines, of Beaver Springs; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Dolly was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She retired from Specialty Yarns.

She loved to be with family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends in her card club. Dolly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that will be dearly missed.

A receiving of friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St. Lewistown, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m., at the funeral home,with Rev. Dick Williams officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
