Donald A. Walters, Jr., 87, of Granville Township, Lewistown, passed away at 5:09 a.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born April 21, 1930, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Donald A. Walters, Sr. and Geneva (Winters) Walters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ann Walters.
Donald is survived by: his wife, Patricia (Tracy) Walters; children, Pamela Sweeney and Paula Ferencz, both of Burnham, Timothy Walters and wife, Kathy, of Carlisle, Kurt Walters and wife, Sandy, of Lewistown, Heidi Buchanan and husband, Todd, of Reedsville, and Tracy Walters and husband, Pat McGrath, of Philadelphia; 14 grandchildren, Jason and Timothy Wert, Rachel Sweeney, Stephanie Laudermilch, Daniel Ferencz, Ryan and Jenna Walters, Sarah, Hannah, and Emmah Walters, Sheldon and Chloe Buchanan, and Austin and Samantha McGrath; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Walters and wife, Donna, of West Virginia.
Donald was a U.S. Army veteran.
He owned and operated the Dry Valley Body Shop and later, worked at Body Builders Collision Repair in Strodes Mills.
He enjoyed playing regular and steel guitars, assembling and flying model planes, and whistling his favorite tunes. He also had a sweet tooth, loved his candy, and his pit bull, Lilly.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the Lewistown Assembly of God Church, 160 Summit Dr., Lewistown, with the Rev. Dennis Sproull officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the church.
