Dorothy L. (Royer) Stong

Dorothy L. Stong, 85, of Lewistown, passed away at 6:02 a.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at The Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.        

Born Aug. 15, 1932 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Mildred B. (Yetter) Royer.   

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Harry James Stong Sr, on Nov. 11, 1981; daughter, Mona Zyvonoski on April 21, 2009; a great-grandson, Kyler James Latchford; three brothers, Jack, John and Weldon Royer; and three sisters, Roslyn and Wanda Brannon and Doris Osborne.

She is survived by: her son, Harry James Stong Jr. and companion, Lisa Kryjeck, of Lewistown; five grandchildren, Joshua, Bobby and Jessica Stong, April Latchford and husband, John, and Delbert Wileman; three great-grandchildren, Jamon Beckwith, Kylie Spickler and Dason Wileman; and siblings, Daniel Royer and wife, Ruth, Richard Royer and wife, Ann, both of Lewistown, Ruth Bishop and husband, Steve, of Strodes Mills, Mary “Marie” Miller, and Linda Davis and husband, Jerry, both of Lewistown.

Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Early in life, she was a waitress at Angelo’s Restaurant, worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory, and later, cleaned houses for many years.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, March 30, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.  A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerri Carlin officiating.

A private interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery.
