Edward Frank Runkel

Edward Frank Runkel Sr., 65, of Lewistown, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, at his home.

Born July 5, 1952, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Zorie Ruth (Ridley) Runkel.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alexander John Ridley.

Edward is survived by: children, Edward Runkel Jr. and wife, Erica, of Lewistown, Tammie Ritter and husband, Richard, of Lewistown, Mandy Gutshall and husband, Steven, of McClure, and Jeremy Runkel and wife, Gergana, of Bulgaria; sisters, Emma Faux, of Delaware, and Peggy S. Bell and husband, Robert, of Harrisburg; and six grandchildren, Eddie and Hannah Runkel, Joshua Ritter, Megan, Julie and Sean Gutshall.

Earlier in life, he was a good carpenter and mechanic. He enjoyed martial arts and had a special talent of breaking cement blocks. He had a green thumb when it came to gardening and also was an aquarium hobbyist. Most important in his life were his children, grandchildren and his pugs. Recently, Edward accepted Jesus Christ into his life.
