Edward Archie Stimely, 89, formerly of Lewistown, passed away at 4:50 a.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019, in Harrisburg.
Born August 12, 1930, in Osceola Mills, he was the son of the late Archie W. and Helen (Gravish) Stimely. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Y. (Damicantonio) Stimely, Nov. 3, 2010.
He is survived by his daughters, Holly Ann Stimely and Gina Leigh Stimely Svec, both of Harrisburg, and his sister, Janet Rheam, of Lewistown.
Archie was a Lewistown High School, Class of 1950 graduate. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lewistown, and a life member of the Brooklyn Hose Company, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #663, United Commercial Travelers, and Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #203.
Archie was employed at the Russell National Bank in Lewistown for 12 years and First National Bank for eight years. He then served as Mifflin County's Tax Claim Director and Clerk of Elections for 17 years before retiring in 1995.
A Mass of Christian Burial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 North Dorcas Street, Lewistown, with Father William Weary and Father Jayaseelan Amalanthan officiating.
Interment will take place at Saint Mark's Community Cemetery.
Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
