Evelyn Mae (Sulouff) Shade

Evelyn Mae Shade, 97, of Lewistown, passed away at 1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lewistown.

Born April 27, 1921, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Earl E. and Annie L. (Spigelmyer) Sulouff.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Lewis A. Shade, Dec. 15, 1994, whom she married Dec. 13, 1941; and sisters, Edith M. Betlyon, Marion L. Swigart and Martha L. Bratton.

Evelyn is survived by: her sons, Thomas A. Shade and wife, Joan, of Pleasant Gap, Timothy L. Shade, and Anthony P. Shade and wife, Ginger, both of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Marie Carlson and husband, Joseph, of Julian, Brian Shade and wife, Jeannine, of Pleasant Gap, Todd Shade and wife, Tracy, and Beth Ann Rowles and husband, Matthew, both of Lewistown; six great-grandchildren, Catherine Caldwell and husband, Derek, of Danville, Nicholas Carlson, of Winter Springs, Fla., Tanner Shade and Riley Shade, both of Pleasant Gap, Trent Shade and Anna Rowles, both of Lewistown; and a great-great-grandchild, Peyton Belle Caldwell, of Danville.

She graduated from McVeytown-Oliver Joint High School, Class of 1939.

She was a member of Ellen Chapel Church.

Evelyn was a homemaker and an avid reader.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Mark Hill officiating.

Interment will take place at Birch Hill Cemetery.
