Fredrick R. Medley, Jr.

Fredrick R. Medley Jr., 73, of Lewistown, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at his home.

Born Feb. 7, 1946, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Fredrick R. Sr. and Ruth E. (Beatty) Medley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy A. (Mitchell) Medley, in 1999; and a brother, John H. Medley, on Dec. 11, 1971.

Fred is survived by: a brother, Frank E. Medley Sr. and wife, Deb, and Brenda L. Marker, both of Lewistown; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Turri and husband, Jason, Melissa Marker, Frank E. Medley Jr. and wife, Megan, Keith Medley, and Emma Medley; and some great-nieces and great-nephews.

Fred was employed by the Borough of Lewistown for 35 years, retiring in 2005.

Early in life, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He was a life member of the Mifflin County Forest Fire Fighters and enjoyed time spent at the Mifflin County Adult Daily Living Center.  Fred loved animals and bead crafts.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown, with Corps Sergeant Major Steve Blessing, Mifflin County Salvation Army, officiating.

Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery.
