Gregory Sherlock Obituary

Gregory E. Sherlock Sr., of Yeagertown, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Valley View.

He was born on Oct. 22, 1948, in Lewistown.

He was a son of the late Kenneth and Miriam (Goss) Sherlock.

In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Sherlock Jr., Dennis Sherlock and Jack Sherlock.

He is survived by: a son, Gregory E. Sherlock Jr. and wife, Melissa, of Lancaster; and a daughter, Heidi J. Roth and husband, Dwayne, of Lancaster; brother, Douglas Sherlock and wife, Marsha, of Reedsville; sister, Annette Crownover and husband, Miles, of Lewistown; and seven grandchildren and many local nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Eva Barger, of Yeagertown, and her children, Steve “Mike” Barger, of Milroy, and Lisa Bryant Barger and husband, Erik, of Reedsville.

Greg was a Class of 1966 Lewistown High School graduate and worked at Marlette Homes for 27 years. He proudly served the staff and students of Mifflin County School District as a custodian for 17 years before his retirement in 2014.

Greg loved to work and was often gardening, fixing and creating things in any way he could. An avid sportsman, Greg enjoyed hunting and fishing and felt most at home at his mountain camp surrounded by nature.

Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Burnham.
