Harry Rosenberry Obituary

Harry L. Rosenberry, 90, of Lewistown, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born November 9, 1928, in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late Samuel E. and Florence M. (Krepps) Rosenberry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: siblings, James M. Rosenberry, Elsie C. Rosenberry, George S. Rosenberry, Betty L. Arnold, Patsy V. Wray, Kenneth L. Rosenberry.

He is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Dorothy E. Rosenberry, of Lewistown; children, Steven M. Rosenberry, of Richmond, VA and Marjorie R. Rosenberry, of Carlisle; a grandson, William H. Rosenberry, of Santa Barbara, CA; siblings, William E. Rosenberry, of Lewistown, Robert R. Rosenberry, of Lewistown, Donald E. Rosenberry, of Wilmington, DE, Peggy A. Mort, of Lewistown.

Harry served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952. He then started working at Standard Steel until he retired in 1990, after 37 years of service.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. The neighborhood children adopted him as a second father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies; he was a loyal fan through their good and bad years. He was also a fan of Penn State Nittany Lions football.  He loved country music and classic western movies and books. Harry enjoyed being outside, going hunting, and he liked to walk at Rec Park or through any outdoor setting.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., November 9, 2019, at Juniata Memorial Park, with Military Honors and Pastor Mark Hill officiating.
