Helen R. (Bowersox) Austin

Helen R. Austin, 77, of McAlisterville, passed away at 8:02 p.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born Feb. 8, 1941, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Rothrock) Bowersox.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, James M. Austin; and three brothers, Harry, George and Robert Bowersox.

Helen is survived by: children, Jeffrey L. Austin and fiancee, Mariam Dippery, and Lisa A. Bergenstock and husband, Jack, both of McAlisterville; seven grandchildren, Justin, Amanda, Tyler, Elijah, Michael, Zachary and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Cadie, Avery and Rebecca Ann; and a sister, Ardice Singley and husband, David, of Mifflintown.

She was a member of Oakland Mills Evangelical Methodist Church.

Helen was employed at the American Viscose Corporation, then worked at Brookline Manor for 18 years before retiring.

A phenomenal cook and queen of the QVC channels, Helen was a very special lady who was always there for her family.  She will be dearly missed.

A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, at the funeral home, with Rev. Frank Trego officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, 9010 U.S. Highway 522 South, Lewistown.
