Helen V. Sipe, 92, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Valley View Haven in Belleville. Helen was known by many names to her friends and family; Jane, Mother, Mummy, Gram, Great Grandma and Lulu. Born on April 23, 1925, she was the daughter of Harry and Sylvia Ramsey. She was married to the late Marvin Price and then to the late Herman Sipe. In addition to her parents and husbands, Helen was preceded in death by an infant son, Marvin Price Jr., and her beloved brother, Harry Ramsey.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Scheetz and Deborah Mann and their families. She is survived by a step-son, Larry Sipe and his family.
She is also survived by a sister-in-law, LaMar Ramsey and her family.
Helen graduated from the Burnham High School. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, gardening, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed being with children and was a dedicated Sunday school teacher for many years at the Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 14 at Valley View Retirement Community, in the chapel. The Rev. Gerald Peachey will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Endowment Fund for Valley View Retirement Community, 4702 East Main Street, Belleville, PA, 17004.
Interment will be held at Birch Hill Cemetery.
