Jacqueline Sanchez-Velez, 54, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at 12:30 a.m., Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Sept. 18, 1964, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Cristino Jiminez and Milia Orama.
Survivors include: her husband of 15 years, William Sanchez-Velez; children, Nina Jurczak, of Lewistown, Miguel Jimenez, of Breaux Bridge, La., Jacqueline Otero, and Erica Otero, both of Amherst, Mass., and Angelina Otero, of Lewistown. Jacqueline had six beautiful grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Jasmine and Oliver Jimenez, Nalaysha Feliciano, Alyciana and Ryu Hackett, and Claire Wetherby. Also surviving are her siblings: Ilias Alma, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Irma Cruz, of Rockaway, N.Y., and Juan D. Cresto and Diana Martinez, both of Springfield, Mass.
Jacqueline was a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church in Belleville, and the Lewistown Fire Police.
She loved to play bingo and was an amazing cook. Jacqueline loved to feed anyone that would come over and eat. She will truly be missed. May the angels watch over her as she now watches over us.
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Max Zook officiating.
Interment will take place at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Juniata St., Lewistown.
