James S. Laub, Sr.

James S. Laub Sr., 78, of McClure, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019, at William Penn Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

Born October 26, 1940, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Clair and Verna (Leister) Laub.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marian A. Laub.

He is survived by: children, Kathy Snyder and husband, Kevin, of Lewistown, Karen Blystone and husband, Robert, of McClure, Melinda Snyder and husband, Carl, of Lewistown, James S. Laub Jr. and wife, Vickie, of McClure, and Denise Laub and companion, Richard Wilson, of Lewistown; 19 grandchildren, Steven and Jeremy Fike, Maranda and Garrett Snyder, Timothy and Ashley Blystone, Kristy Wagner, Jason Snyder, Nicole Hoar, Justine Peters, James Laub III, Jordan Carrington, JoHanna Parker, Jenna Wilson, Jonathon Laub, Richard and Ryan Wilson, Bailey Spigelmyer and Ericka Wilson; and 40 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Loht and husband, Fern, of McClure, Donald Laub and wife, Barb, of Reedsville, Sharon Callahan and husband, Joseph, of Beaver Springs, Pamela Laub and companion, Jerry Barger, of McClure.

He was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1958.

Earlier in life, he worked at the Beaver Brothers Bakery, the Viscose, and Naginey Quarry.

James enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and trapping. Family was always most important to him.

A viewing will be held from 1-2 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., with Rev. Mike Bailey officiating.

Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery.
