James 'Jim' R. Young, II

James “Jim” R. Young II, 48, of Lewistown, passed away at 5 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018, at his home.     

Born August 11, 1969, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late James R. Young I and Brenda (Prye) Young.     

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother, Ronald J. Young, on August 9, 2005; nephews, Jaxson Reish and Gage Knepp; and lifelong friend, Christina Collins.

James is survived by: his children, Julie Young and companion, Demorise Roper, Jessica Young and companion, Abraham Mackenzie, and Devin Young and companion, Brandi Hutchinson, all of Martinsburg, West Va., and Noah, of McClure; seven grandchildren, Maya, Kam, Jantzen, Jayzuh, Zoey, Fantasia and Cherish; siblings, Retha Mowery and husband, Brian, of Granville, Steven Young and companion, Bonnie Ripple, and Stacy Young and companion, Bill Traxler, both of Lewistown, Christine Rossman and husband, Zachary, of McClure, and Amber Young and companion, Rusty Drukenmiller, of Selingsgrove; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Jim was saved at Paintersville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.

He was employed as a machine operator at Lewistown Paper Company. 

Jim was a very loving person and had never met a stranger.  He loved spending time with his family, was an avid fisherman and Notre Dame fan, and enjoyed collecting guns and antiques.

A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2018, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018, at the funeral home, with Pastor Travis Habbershon officiating.

Interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown.
