Jeffrey S. Smith

Jeffrey “Jeff” S. Smith, 56, of Lewistown, passed away at 3:22 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.     

Born March 2, 1961, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Leo C. Smith and Ann H. (Simonetti) Smith, who survives.      

In addition to his mother, Jeff is survived by:  brothers, Michael Smith, of Lewistown, and “Lee” E. Smith and wife, Michele, of Burnham; five nieces and nephews, Dion Smith, Christianna Smith, Cherie Hannon, Leigh Ann Strohecker, and Nathan Smith; and their children.

He graduated from Chief Logan High School, Class of 1979.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown.

He was employed by his brother as a painter in the family business.      

Jeff was a loving son, brother, and uncle.  He had such a positive way of looking at the world and was well liked by all who knew him.  We will miss his smile, his laughter and his love, but are comforted by our many fond memories of him and that he was such a special part of our lives.  Our time together was all too brief, so with heavy hearts we say goodbye until we meet again. 

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 19, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown.  A Mass of Christian Burial Service will follow at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Church, with Father Jayaseelan “Jayson” Amalanthan officiating.
