John B. Fuhrman, 83, of Burnham, passed away at 6 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 22, 1934, in Norristown, he was a son of the late John H. and Margaret (Baker) Fuhrman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Jean E. (Hummel) Fuhrman, on April 4, 2002; sons, John (in infancy) and Scott Fuhrman; and a brother, William Fuhrman.
John is survived by: his daughters, Sharon Price and husband, Jack, and Susan Yetter, both of Lewistown, and Paula Weaver, of Reedsville; five grandchildren, Joshua and Christopher Yetter, Nicholas Price, and Michaela and Olivia Weaver; a step-granddaughter, Mikaila; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kelsey, John and Katherine.
He graduated from Derry High School.
John served in the Army with the 39th Infantry Regiment in Germany during the Korean Conflict from Sept. 1953 to Sept. 1955.
He was employed as a truck driver for Glen H. Brower Trucking.
John was a member of Burnham Church of The Brethren and the Model Railroaders Club in downtown Lewistown. He also enjoyed gardening.
A receiving of friends will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at William Penn Chapel, 163 Summit Dr., Lewistown, followed by a memorial service, with Rev. George Yocum officiating.
Interment will take place at Birch Hill Cemetery, with military honors by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
