Joyce R. (Zettle) Griffith Nicholas, 84, of Lewistown, passed away at 2:40 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018.
Born May 13, 1934, in Pleasant Gap, Centre County, she was a daughter of the late Hayes R. Zettle and Beulah (Hoar) Zettle Parker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a daughter, Pamela Jean Griffith, on Jan. 24, 2016; two brothers; and a sister.
Joyce is survived by: her children, Linda Dickson, of Strodes Mills, Brenda Lower and husband, Donald, of Lewistown, and Billi Jo Siler and husband, Robert, of Virginia; four grandchildren, Tawni Snyder and husband, Rodger, Shannon Lower, Dana Sayers and husband, Tony, and Dustin Siler; six great-grandchildren, Taylor Snyder and companion, Dylan McKnight, Dylan Snyder, Taylor Kohler and husband, Craig, Autumn Sayers and Austin Sayers, and Kaelyn Haze Siler; two great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Pennebaker and Xander Sayers; siblings, Shirley Hostetler and Dorothy Haines, both of Lewistown, Ronald Zettle, of Steelton, and Sarah Ranch, of Mount Joy; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was employed as the dining room supervisor for the Lewistown Elks Lodge for seven years and later retired from Tony’s Cottage Inn.
She was a lifetime member of the Brooklyn Fire Company, and a member of City Hook and Ladder and Yeagertown Fire Companies, the Lewistown Moose, Lewistown Senior Center, and A.C.T.W.U.
Joyce enjoyed traveling, taking bus trips and shopping.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Church Hill Cemetery in Reedsville, with Rev. Bernard Carpenter officiating.
