Katherine A. (Barnes) Herto

Katherine A. Herto, 57, of Juniata Terrace, Lewistown, passed away at 6:54 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Nov. 12, 1961, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Richard Barnes and Dorine (Nale) Barnes, of Juniata Terrace, who survives.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by: her companion, Daniel Adams, in 2016; a brother, William Barnes; and sisters, Diane Adams and Vicki Barnes.

In addition to her mother, Katherine is survived by: children, Stephanie "Steph" Harshbarger and husband, Shawn, and Kyle Herto and wife, Ashley, both of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Nash, Brea, Cameron and Whitney Harshbarger; siblings, Ginger Huff, of Chambersburg, Dale Barnes, of Nebraska, and Richard Barnes and wife, Connie, of Georgia; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1979.

Katherine loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed making crafts and floral arranging.

Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.

Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
