Marilyn J. (Hetrick) Skillman

Marilyn J. Skillman, 87, of Lewistown passed away at 7:20 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at her home.

Born Nov. 11, 1929 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late William Brady Hetrick and Helen (Lauver) Hetrick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. “Tom” Skillman, Sr., on May 17, 2013, and sons, Robin H. Skillman and Thomas G. Skillman, Jr.

She is survived by: her daughter-in-law, Faye Skillman, of Lewistown; son, David L. Skillman and wife, Dawn, of Albion, Illinois, daughter, Marti Skillman of Glassboro, New Jersey, and son, George R. Skillman and wife, Sharon, of Port Deposit, Maryland; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was a graduate of Lewistown High School, class of 1948.

Earlier in life, she was a bookkeeper for Davies Oil Company and then later, J.J. Powell, retiring in 1999 with 32 years of service.

She was a member of Lewistown Presbyterian Church and Sunday School Class #21.

Marilyn enjoyed going out to lunch with her girlfriends. She loved her German shepherds, movies about animals and enjoyed reading.

All services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. A private interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
