Mary Lou Pletcher, 87, of Burnham, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at William Penn.
Born Aug. 23, 1930, in Connellsville, she was a daughter of the late Robert H. Newmyer and Margaret E. (Safford) Newmyer.
She is survived by: her husband, David R. Pletcher Sr., whom she married June 23, 1950; children, David R. Pletcher Jr., and wife, Deborah, of Parker, Texas; James D. Pletcher and wife, Patti, of Burnham; Susan B. Cherry and husband, Donald, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Jennifer Johns and husband, Nathan, of Elderton; Kimberly Barlow and husband, Andrew, of Bend, Ore., Nathen Pletcher, of Altoona, Daniel Cherry and wife, Emily, of Lewistown, Jonathan Cherry and wife, Jessica, of Hummelstown; great-grandchildren, Travis and Emily Johns, Hayley and Alaina Barlow, Colton Pletcher, and Levi and Libby Cherry.
Mary Lou worked as a cashier at Town and Country and Weis Markets.
She was a member of Walnut Street UMC and she was a church school secretary.
Mary was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1948.
She enjoyed senior games and would take part in the senior bowling league. Mary was a member of the United Methodist Women and she was a trustee and treasurer of Fidelis SS Class.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.
Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
