Patricia L. (York) Kauffman

Patricia L. Kauffman, 73, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born Nov. 17, 1945, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Reba (Fuller) York.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Earl J. "Red" Kauffman; son, John R. Schell Jr.; granddaughter, Zoe Rea Schell-Truitt; great-grandson, Camden Vaughn; and siblings, James E., William H., Roy E., Richard, and Shirley York.

Patricia is survived by: her children, Christine Vaughn and husband, Gene, of Shirleysburg, Debra Bryner and husband, Brian, and Gary Schell, both of Lewistown; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dorothy Murphy, and Robert York and wife, Joan, both of Lewistown, and Linda Lyter, of West Virginia.

Patricia was a high school graduate and attended the Centre Union Church in Strodes Mills.

Earlier in life, she was a self-employed health care aide and also worked at the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and Yeagertown Fire Company.

Patricia loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed going out to eat and playing Bingo and cards.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to Noon, Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, followed by a memorial service, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Pastor Kenneth Patterson officiating.
