Paul Kenneth Romig, Jr., 74, of Lewistown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 4:20 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2017, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born April 28, 1943, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Paul K. Romig, Sr. and Nina C. (Knotts) Romig Knepp.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a nephew, Scott Moyle, and a niece, Tanya Moyle.  

He is survived by: his wife, Mary Ann (Kitchen) Romig, whom he married March 14, 1964; his  children, Kenneth E. Romig and wife, Jennifer, of Milroy, Denise A. Kloehr and husband, Dennis, of Lewistown, Brian E. Romig and wife, Suzie, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Wendy R. Romig, of Lewistown, and Daniel C. Romig, of Lancaster, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Joshua and Trevor Kloehr, of Lewistown, Spencer Romig, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Emily and Isabella Romig, of Lancaster, N.Y.; siblings, Anna Moyle, of Lewistown, Jane Spigelmyer and husband, Jerry, of Burnham, Jean Krepps, of Lewistown, Ruth Smalldon and husband, Ronald, of Sun City West, Ariz., Ruby Koontz and husband, Gregory, of Lewistown; and four nieces, two nephews, three great-nieces, eight great-nephews, two great-great nieces, and a great-great nephew.

Paul graduated from Chief Logan High School, Class of 1961.

He was a U.S. Air Force career veteran, retiring with 26 years’ service on Nov. 30, 1987, at the rank of Master Sergeant.  Paul completed overseas tours in Turkey, Vietnam, Shemya in the Aleutian Islands, and Korea.  In 1984, he earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Work Center Management through The Community College of the Air Force.       

Following his military retirement, he was employed by Cerro Metal Products in Bellefonte for 16 years.

Paul attended New Life Church in Burnham where he enjoyed helping with weekly children’s programs, nursery, and summer Bible school.

He never stopped teasing his sisters, and enjoyed spending time with his family, going camping, and playing fantasy football. 

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham. 

The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Weds., Nov. 1, at New Life Church, 101 N. Beech St., Burnham, with Pastor John Walters officiating.

Interment will take place at Salem Cemetery, Milroy, with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for Paul may be made to: Disabled American Veterans, 4219 E. Trindle Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
