Pauline “Sissy” Louise Shover, 92, of Lewistown, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born April 10, 1925, She was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Delza B. (Smith) Shover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen L. Miller.
Pauline is survived by: loving daughter, Sandra E. Long and husband, Walter A.; countless loved ones; many nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; and many great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was a Juniata High School graduate, Class of 1943.
Pauline attended Grace Covenant Church. She worked for Fishers/Sanyo and, earlier in life, she picked beans for the cannery and enjoyed working at the seashore.
Pauline never missed a family celebration. She loved her visits with family. Family functions were her favorite, especially around the holidays and birthdays. She loved food and enjoyed watching the QVC show, “In the Kitchen with David.” She liked game shows and Dancing with the Stars. Pauline would do anything for anybody and loved all of God’s creations, especially her kitties and dog, Sampson. She had a profound belief and love for Jesus.
For the last 92 years, Pauline Shover (Sissy) had a builder working on a new home for her, a mansion as a matter of fact. The builders finished around 2:10 a.m. on March 26. Pauline moved from her home and from her failing body into that new mansion with a new eternal body. While we are happy for her to be there, it is still a loss for us and it will mean a new normal for us. We covet your prayers as we walk this journey.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes (Woodlawn), 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Ron Neff officiating.
Memorials in Pauline’s name may be made to: Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
