Raymond C. Wise

Raymond C. “Jiggs” Wise, 87, of Lewistown, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 30, 1930, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Jon and Minnie E. (Piper) Wise.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: son, Thomas Edward Bush; siblings, Bernard Wise, Cameron Wise, Violet Wise, Larry Wise and Marge Over; and close friend, Francis “Tiny”DePeter.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Raymond was a Lewistown High School graduate. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1950 to 1954. He also worked at the Viscose and as a guard at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Lewistown CMA, 50 Hudson Ave., Lewistown, with the Rev. Neil Breneman officiating.

Private interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery.
