Sharon L. McAteer, 70, entered Heaven’s gates at 8:29 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2017, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lewistown.
Born Nov. 16, 1947, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late George Fred and Pearl Amanda (Miller) Tate.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Blair Thomas McAteer; four brothers, George, Leonard, Alvin, and Norman; and a sister, Mary Page.
She is survived by: her son, Kevin N. McAteer and wife, Connie, of Port Royal; and two sisters, Barbara I. Lilley, of State College, and Jane Tate, of Lewistown.
Sharon graduated from Chief Logan High School, Class of 1966.
She was Presbyterian by faith.
In earlier years, she worked as a childcare aide at the former Selinsgrove State School.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 21, 2017 at Mt. Rock Cemetery, Oakland Ave., Lewistown, with Rev. Randy Traxler officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
